Meredith L. Hough
Meredith L. Hough has extensive experience litigating in both federal and state courts. Before joining the firm, she served as a criminal prosecutor from 2014 to 2023, handling complex matters at every stage from investigation through trial. As a Trial Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Health Care Fraud Unit and as an Assistant Attorney General with the Florida Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, Ms. Hough prosecuted large-scale and complex health care fraud and patient harm cases. She also served as an Assistant State Attorney in Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she prosecuted cases involving human trafficking, violent crimes, white collar frauds, narcotics, and sex offenses.
In addition to her criminal practice, Ms. Hough has significant experience litigating employment disputes and civil matters before state courts and administrative tribunals. She previously served as an Assistant General Counsel in the Employment Litigation and Human Resources Unit of the Florida Department of Corrections—Florida’s largest state agency, with a workforce exceeding 24,000 employees. In that role, she represented the agency in employment arbitrations and proceedings before the Florida Public Employees Relations Commission; investigated and responded to charges of discrimination and retaliation filed with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Florida Commission on Human Relations; and oversaw employment litigation in state, federal, and appellate courts.
